Tapton Park Golf Club plays on the municipal Tapton Park Golf Course owned by the Chesterfield Borough Council  (CBC.)

Since April 1st 2008 Sheffield International Venues Limited (SIV) have run the course and in November 2009, signed a 25 year lease with the CBC to continue doing so.

Green fees, inquiries, individual and society bookings  are made  via the SIV employees in the Pro Shop  - phone: 01246 239500.

Green fees may be pay-as-you-play  or by season ticket as a member of  SIV's GOLFIT scheme.

Current Pro Shop opening time is 7:30am shutting at 12:30pm to 2:00pm depending on conditions.  Booking is from 07:45.

The bar and clubhouse may be open a little later depending on conditions, too.  Opening of the bar and kitchen is normally 9:00am at the moment, with food available until 1:00pm -  phone:  01246 209678.

Established in 1934, Tapton Park is arguably one of the finest municipal golf courses in England.

At just over 6,000 yards, the picturesque 18-hole Old Course with five dog-leg holes is sculptured out of undulating parkland with a signature 5th hole measuring 625 yards.

The old course is agreed by many to be a true test of golf.

Along with the  18-hole Course,   Tapton park also has two other courses. A 9-hole Academy Course, called   The Dobbin Clough , aimed at the intermediate standard player, and the   Pitch and Putt Course  for beginners and family users.

The club is the holder of the Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Sports Awards 2006 Club of the Year, awarded in the face of competition from hundreds of other clubs of all types in the area.
